-Prepare a soapy water mix.
-Properly scrub starting from the top and ensure you handle all the surfaces to prevent dust and debris from reaching areas already cleaned.
-Use warm water and mild detergent to remove dirt or grease. Return to the top with a clean cloth to dry off the soap residue and dirt.
-If the cabinet has not been cleaned for a while, use bubbling alcohol to remove stubborn stains. Rub the alcohol on the affected area.
-Scrub any rust remaining with extra-fine steel wool on the affected spot with minimal pressure to avoid removing the finish. In case there will be bare spots left, apply some metal paint.
-Dry the metal thoroughly to get rid of any water since the moisture can cause rusting.
-Finish metal cabinets with some waxing.
Car wax can give the cabinet a lustrous finish. Remember to open office windows while applying the wax for ventilation.
-After completely drying, put back the office file in order.
