One of the most important issues you may be facing around your home is the persistence of mold in humid environments. Mildew and mold can be a real bother to deal with, so you would do well to make sure you rid yourself of their presence. This may be the case in humid climates, not to mention you will have a real problem with it if you have issues with hoarding.There may be some really good substitutes to your usual harsh chemicals such as bleach used to get rid of mold, so let⫪s get started on pointing out the most commonly used ones out there:
- You can work on making use of tea tree oil that is often found in health food markets and stores. It is a very efficient natural mold killer you can count on. You can completely eliminate mold infestations if you work on this with the right approach. Use that to get rid of mold in your rugs, ceilings, showers and any other area that has this type of issue. Make a spray of tea tree oil and water and you will be able to destroy mold as soon as you notice it. You won⫪t have to worry about any smell as it will dry off on its own and it will eliminate any mold spores you may see. Even though the pure oil has a strong scent, in the end its scent will disappear without too much time passing.
- Another good option you can use is some grapefruit seed extract, which will be similar to tea tree oil but it will also be a relatively expensive solution as well. Unlike it is with tea tree oil you will have no lasting scent at all. Just combine the rough equivalent of 20 drops into about two cups of water and you will be able to use it in exactly the same way as you would with tea tree oil. The mix between water and grapefruit seed extract will be something you can use in your daily cleaning routines as well if you have the time.
- Next on your list you can make use of distilled white vinegar without a care in the world. It has the great ability to kill more than 80% of most known mold types that plague our homes. Distilled white vinegar is also non staining when mixed with water in a 50:50 ratio, allowing you to use it for a lot of cleaning tasks that should be handled every day. You can destroy mold spores with its use on walls and during carpet cleaning and upholstery cleaning every time you need it.
- Plastic shower curtains in your bathroom will often grow mildew and mold on their surface due to high moisture levels and worse. You can use them alongside two bath towels, some vinegar and a cup of baking soda to clean out the curtains entirely and to freshen them up for future use.
