Clean up your home with these 9 handy tips

Clean up your home with these 9 handy tips

Is your house a mess? I don't know about you, but when my house starts to feel cluttered and messy it's hard to do anything. But there are some simple things that you can do around the house that will make everything feel better. These 9 tips for cleaning your home will help clear out clutter and get your life back on track!

1. Remove build-up in your humidifier.

Mold and microbes can grow in your humidifier if you don't clean it out every once in a while. To do so, pour two cups of undiluted white vinegar into the water tank and swish it around until wet. Place the vinegar-filled tank on the base to allow for draining before scrubbing with an old toothbrush or sponge crevices where build up may have occurred over time.

2. Restore your dishwasher.

In order to keep your dishwasher running like new and prevent it from breaking down, you must take care of the insides.

First, give your dishes a good rinse before loading them into the washer for cleaning. This will remove any excess food particles or other substances that might stain later on in the process. Next, pull out both racks at once so you can easily find anything leftover after each wash cycle (beans are especially notorious). Finally wipe off everything with a paper towel while pulling itself straight up and away from where water flows through during washing cycles- this prevents staining as well!

3. Scrub your toilet clean.

Toilet cleaners need to be applied, not just sprayed on. They should sit for up to five minutes before scrubbing with a stiff-bristled toilet brush and then wiping down the seat and handle with disinfectant wipes. The goal? A sparkling white bowl free of germs - no small feat considering how many people use it every day!

4. Clean out candleholders.

Cleaning out your candle holders is a messy job, but it's worth the effort. When you're done using them for candles, save an attractive container by emptying the wax residue with hot water and paper towels in between uses.

5. Descale your coffee maker.

The following is a list of things that are necessary to help maintain your coffee maker in top-notch condition.

The first thing you need to do, before anything else (with the exception of descaling), should be removing any buildup from on the brewer's carafe and lid by using vinegar or an all natural cleanser like baking soda water mix with warm water at a 1:1 ratio. After waiting for 30 minutes, rinse it off thoroughly then let it dry completely before pouring fresh ground coffee into the filter basket. This will ensure that nothing gets left behind which could hinder performance over time as well as leaving residue everywhere when next brewing iced or hot beverages later down line."

6. Rethink the linen closet.

Your linen closet is running out of space, so think about creative ways to store your towels. Over-the-door racks will let you hang extra towels and toiletries without wasting any more floor or countertop real estate. Shelves divided by dividers are perfect for storing folded washcloths securely while baskets offer a convenient way to organize those surplus items like TP and cleaning supplies that have been piling up in the back corner!

7. Restore your shower pressure.

Restore your shower pressure by following this simple recipe: Mix equal parts white vinegar and water in a plastic bag. Tie it around the head of your shower, secure with a twist tie, soak for up to an hour or more - then wipe away any loosened deposits!

8. Freshen the shower curtain.

Freshen the shower curtain with a little detergent and some towels. Hang it to dry or put in the dryer on low heat or fluff only, then stretch it out after each use for long-lasting freshness!

9. Fluff feather pillows.

If you're in need of some new pillows, try using feathers! Feathers can be washed and dried easily. Start by loading two pillows into the washer at a time for balance. Use only a small amount of detergent to wash them on delicate cycle with an extra rinse, then tumble dry low with tennis balls because they'll help poof up your pillow again after it's done drying.
